BNP Plumbing Group Columnist Dave Yates was appointed to IAPMO’s Hydronics Standards Committee (HSC) as a voting member by the organization’s executive committee. Yates will serve in the general interest category for a term of two years.
As an HSC member, Yates will be responsible for developing new and maintaining existing IAPMO/ANSI American National Standards. The HSC will operate in accordance with IAPMO’s accredited procedure for standards development: IAPMO PP-1:2018 “Policies and Procedures for Consensus Development of American National Standards.”
“I view this as an opportunity to give back and pay it forward for the hydronics industry,” Yates said. “I’m looking forward to advancing code improvements to aid both codes enforcement officials and contractors alike.”
Yates is the former owner of York, Pennsylvania-based F. W. Behler, a third-generation plumbing and HVAC firm. He is also an experienced teacher in the hydronics industry, serving as an adjunct professor and on the Technical Advisory Board for the Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology.
